• On joining the Bar, Mr Hackett was retained in commercial litigation matters and quickly developed what can be described as an “in court” practice. That has continued to the present day.

  Mr Hackett’s commercial practice has expanded to Family Law jurisdiction involving substantial property disputes.

  His practice is such that he is in court on almost a daily basis in either the:

  • (a) applications division of the Supreme (primarily in Queensland but also in New South Wales and Victoria), District, Federal, Family (primarily in Queensland but also in Victoria) or Federal Circuit (primarily in Queensland but also in Victoria) Courts;
  • (b) trial division of the Supreme, District, Federal, Family or Federal Circuit Courts or QCAT; or
  • (c) appeal division of Supreme, District and Family Courts.

  Mr Hackett also has an out of court advocacy practice where he either appears for a litigant at mediation or alternatively conducts the mediation.
